The Night Rod itself is already an impressive machine right from the Harley factory, powered by a 120-horsepower Revolution engine and featuring a muscular, stripped-down look. But the custom touches on this particular bike take it to another level entirely.

The most eye-catching modification is definitely the enormous rear wheels and tires. Built specifically for this motorcycle, they measure a staggering 10 inches wide and 21 inches in diameter – essentially more than double the stock size. They give the Night Rod an almost cartoonish hot rod look, like something out of a post-apocalyptic road warrior movie.

Complementing the rear rubber are elongated front forks that have been stretched a few extra inches to help visually balance out the bike’s proportions. They also allow sufficient clearance for the massive rear wheel and provide an aggressive rake that matches the Rod’s in-your-face attitude.

As if the wheels and stance weren’t enough, the entire motorcycle has been given a custom navy blue paint job using a metallic flake effect that dazzles brightly under the Australian sun. It has a deep, liquid quality that seems to suck you right in, with intricate tribal patterns along the fuel tank and fenders.

We tracked down the Night Rod as it rumbled through downtown Sydney, drawing stares and dropped jaws wherever it went. The photographer’s camera clicked wildly, capturing the radical Harley from every angle while stopped at intersections and cruising down the street. Slowing down to match the bike’s pace, close-up shots document all the wild details and custom touches.

Other photos show the reactions of passerbys, ranging from wide-eyed stares of amazement to smiles and pointing fingers. It’s not often a motorcycle this unique rolls through the streets of Sydney, after all. Some folks even pulled out their mobile phones to get their own snapshots of the wild custom Harley.

The bike’s owner remains unknown, but one thing is for sure – they certainly knew how to get attention. While the stretched, lowered look isn’t very practical for regular riding, that clearly wasn’t the builder’s intention. It’s a rolling piece of extreme motorcycle artwork, meant to shock and awe.

Our photographer captured the Night Rod just as intended – an in-your-face, over-the-top, badass custom motorcycle that lets its presence be known. Big wheels, big rubber, big style. Now we just need a bigger garage to park it in!
