“Young Tennis Sensation Coco Gauff Triumphs, Following in Serena Williams’ Footsteps to Claim US Open Victory at 19”

“In a stunning upset, Coco Gauff secures her place in tennis history by defeating world No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka with a thrilling 2-1 victory, making her the 10th youngest player ever to clinch the US Open championship.”

19-year-old female tennis player Coco Gauff is considered the successor to the future of American tennis after Serena Williams was crowned at the US Open by defeating Aryna Sabalenka with a score of 2-1 (2-6, 6-3, 6- 2) in two hours and six minutes.

This made the 19-year-old the thirty-eighth champion in a professional tournament before turning 20 in the Open Era. The last great female tennis players to do the same were Tracy Austin (1979) and Serena (1999).

Winning the 2023 US Open, Gauff is the 10th youngest player to win a prestigious women’s title in her home country and also became the youngest American player to win a Grand Slam tournament since Serena won the 1999 US Open at the age of 17.

At this tournament, the American tennis player is only the No. 6 seed, while Aryna Sabalenka is the No. 2 seed and the championship will help Gauff rise to No. 3 in the world next week, behind Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek.

Previously, Gauff had his first Grand Slam final, losing to Iga Swiatek at Roland Garros 2022. After this defeat, Gauff also rose to No. 1 in the world for the first time in August 2022.

At dawn tomorrow, September 11, Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev will face each other in the 2023 US Open men’s singles final.
