Chiefs supporter Beth Vancil posted a video of herself receiving a scarf from 34-year-old Taylor Swift on Instagram on Monday, January 15, during the team’s Saturday, January 13, game against the Miami Dolphins. Swift was seen in the photo supporting boyfriend Travis Kelce while sitting in a box with Brittany Mahomes. Underneath them was Vancil, who wore a white knit scarf and took a selfie with the two. She also posted footage of the 28-year-old Mahomes and Swift dancing, as well as a picture of Travis’ mother, Donna Kelce, looking through a fogged-over window.

Kansas City. The fan captioned the photo, saying, “We came, we saw, we conquered, we swag surfed with Donna, Taylor, and Brittany, and Taylor gave me her scarf (it wasn’t red, and she doesn’t want it back).” She expressed gratitude to us for being her lucky charms. Until next week, KC. PS: We are now pals with @tambahali and Paul Rudd!!! 🫶.

Later, Vancil talked candidly about the encounter with People, observing that Swift’s scarf “smelled like home.”

“She called me her ‘lucky charm’ during the game,” she remarked, adding that Swift ‘noticed my face was burning red and offered me her scarf.’

The newest item from Vancil reminded us of Swift’s song “All Too Well.” Swifties are aware that she sings in the song about giving a red scarf to an ex-boyfriend who never returned it—along with long-standing rumors that he is Jake Gyllenhaal.

In the opening stanza, she sings, “And I left my scarf there at your sister’s house / And you’ve still got it in your drawer, even now.” “But you keep my old scarf from that very first week / Because it reminds you of innocence and it smells like me,” she adds later in the song.’

Swift has been to several Chiefs games to support her 34-year-old son Travis. She initially appeared in September 2023, and she later revealed that the two were already “a couple” in her TIME Person of the Year piece.

Since then, she has extended invitations to friends and family—Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner, Sabrina Carpenter, father Scott Swift, and others—to attend Travis’ games.

Swift has been supporting her guy by wearing a variety of items, including miniskirts, fuzzy red coats, Chiefs memorabilia, charm bracelets with his football number 87 on them, and most recently, a puffer jacket with Kelce’s number emblazoned on it.
